Over the last 40 years I have performed genealogical research throughout the Mid-West and Mid-Atlantic regions, as well as research on Swedish records. My background as a lawyer and historian has allowed me to develop strong analytic research skills that I use to efficiently and effectively respond to the needs of my clients. I hold the Certified Genealogist® credential from the Board for the Certification of Genealogists.
I am a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) and I abide by the code of ethics of both APG and of the Board for the Certification of Genealogists. I am professionally affiliated with numerous genealogical organizations both in the United States and Sweden including the APG, the National Genealogical Society, the Virginia Genealogical Society, Indiana Genealogical Society, the Swedish American Center, the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center, Datorhjälp I Släktforskningen (DIS-Sweden), as well as numerous county and local genealogical societies. I have worked in numerous roles for the Fairfax Genealogical Society and I am currently the Newsletter editor (yes, I would love to see your article on Virginia research, thank you.)
I enrich my research skills by attending conferences, workshops, webinars, and society meetings. In addition, I keep up with the latest in research both in the United States and Sweden through blogs, books, professional journals, and networking.
